The road to Wenney Lodge

We went down the road a ways and saw a nice sign, Wenney Lodge. Assefa said we would go some 20 km on a dirt road to the lodge. The road was good for a ways. Then it turned to rocks and potholes. At one point a young man told us to go off to the side because the main road was washed out. We turned off on what appeared to be cow paths. This didn't bother me because we used to do this a lot when we lived in Ethiopia 40 years ago. But I couldn't help wondering if there could really be a lodge at the end of such a road. (Back in the old days, we used to camp, so we never worried about finding a lodge.)

Here is a portion of the good part of the road! A big mudhole.... I wish I had pictures of some of the rocks and potholes!
Some time later, we came to a covered bridge over a stream, and it really looked small. A larger bus was there, unable to go on. Assefa got out and watched as we approached the bridge and we could just barely go through it.
