The women were having a good time as they waited for us while we were seeing all the treasures of the monastery. A beautiful young woman, Jerusalem, came to talk with them. She is a 7th grader in the local school. She was very interested in using her command of English to talk with them and tell them about her school and about her life. They were entranced by her beauty and by her friendliness. Just look at that smile!
The very old book had to remain in the building where it was stored. But Haile was able to have the priests bring down some of the old books so that the women could see them. Here, the priests are showing one of the old books, carefully protected by an umbrella.
