Heading down the coast......

It was a beautiful drive down the Oregon Coast. Below are some of the varied sights along the way. At times there were forested hills, at times steep slopes at the edge of the water and at times, beaches and rocks.

An especially interesting place was Cape Perpetua. It was a very beautiful part of the coast.

But it was interesting in another way. There is a place where the ocean comes in between rocky sides. When were there, the tide was out, so it didn't seem very wild.

I remember a previous time when we were there at high tide and the waves would come in, hit the end with a tremendous crash, sending water shooting high into the air. This is called the Devil's Churn.

There were many other places with great beauty along the coast. If you ever have a chance, you should make a journey along the coast. As we were driving down the coast, many times we passed people riding bicycles, many with camping gear on the back. I think it would be a wonderful ride.

We stopped at an old lighthouse, reminding us of times past

Not only were there places difficult to pass with boats, but this area is also subject to big waves which at times may move in.

On down the coast, we passed through the redwoods again. These magnificent trees are endlessly amazing.

Did you ever lie beneath a tree and look straight up? It certainly gives one a different perspective on the world. In many places, there was moss on the trees.

The trees are big and they make big logs. Don and Adelina were sitting on one of them.

And there are places where you can drive right through a tree!
